This section is updated as often as possible (daily or every other day). The purpose of this section is to raise awareness about upcoming or released games that are receiving little coverage. In addition, developers will be featured for their game contributions and more. Please note that none of the four sections will focus on entirely one game, though a few could at times.
Video of the Day:
Sol Survivor (developed by Cadenza Interactive) is out now for 800 Microsoft Points.
Note: If you are unable to see the video, it may be because YouTube is down for maintenance.
Xbox Live Indie Game of the Day:
Solar (developed by Murudai) -Today’s game is a casual game that absorbed us in its easy-going gameplay…literally. In this space sim/action game, the player is the sun. The goal is to grow in power by absorbing other suns and getting objects to orbit you. This is all done in an infinite sandbox universe. Just this small concept creates for an experience we didn’t expect when we booted the game up. We were unprepared for how addicting it can actually be.
To experience all Solar has to offer, you must spend 240 Microsoft Points for the full game. Only then can you complete the 15 challenges that unlock special options to tweak the gameplay. Each challenge creates a motivational goal since the player will most likely want to try out every gameplay tweak. We won’t say much about them other then they are nice to mix-and-match. Give them game a try and see for yourself!
New Release of the Day:
Armor Valley (developed by Protege Production) – “This game was classified by the community with the following category scores – Violence=1/3, Sex=0/3, Mature Content=0/3. Armor Alley combines the thrill of a fast-paced Shooter with the intrigue of a Real-Time Strategy. In a futuristic world engulfed in war and terror, you have been chosen to command the forces of The Federation to maintain global peace. But for the very first time in the history of commanders, you chose to fight alongside your men on the battle frontier.” – Xbox.com
Released on 11/9/2009 at a price of 400 Microsoft Points.
Developer of the Day:
Evolution Dreams Studio - This small development studio is located in Barcelona, Spain. They focus primarily on casual games, already releasing Planet Delta and Bomb Disposal Expert with more promised soon. Through making the games easy-to-learn, Evolution Dreams Studio hopes to create games that appeal to anyone who wants a good time. Because they are a small company, they can create their own independent games for “PC/MAC, Xbox Live Indie Games and free Flash games with advertisements.” Look out for their upcoming games, Runic Quest, Pirate Mayhem, Words in a Word, and Project Atlantis soon!
